Project Data included in Wikimedia Enterprise
Data available in Wikimedia Enterprise APIs is aggregated from multiple Wikimedia projects including their language editions.
Wikipedia is just the tip of the iceberg as we also include Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikiquote, Wikivoyage, Wikiversity, and Wikinews. This data is written and curated by humans in over 360 unique languages. Having one API suite with all of this information, you can combine data from multiple projects and languages to fulfill data needs for your organization or startup, a large language model, search engine, or knowledge graph, or data science endeavors.
Requesting //api.enterprise.wikimedia.com/v2/codes, part of our Metadata Endpoints, will respond with the list of project types (seen on this page) each with identifier, name, and description. Similarly when requesting //api.enterprise.wikimedia.com/v2/projects you’ll get all projects and the various languages they’re available in. Using the metadata endpoints provide you with the filters you’ll use in the main endpoints, say you only want results from english projects, etc.
